Navigator 2008!

I realized that the first pictures I actually took were when my friend and I took a train over to Washington DC for the afternoon. It was amazing... the first pic below is Union Station! This is Union Station from the outside. The buildings are beautiful.

We went to the Smithsonian... In the art museum hung this original paining by Leonardo Da Vinci. It was beautiful- of course all the detail is lost in photographs.
This is on the floor near the WWII monument.
It is unbelievably moving.

If you look the other way you see the WWII memorial and the Washington Monument.

The detail on the buildings was incredible.....

In the Lincoln Memorial... on one wall they have the Gettysburg address... and on the opposite wall they have his 2nd inaugural address.

I love all the quotes and sayings on the buildings. We also went and saw the Archives. the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and the Bill of Rights.... the pics didn't come out so good since you are not allowed to use a flash.

Gretchen and Nancy came down to Baltimore for a little vacation.. .it was great to see them there. We had a blast - they joined me and my CCM friends at a piano bar in town... good times!
