Today at the park with the Dalys...

The girls were off today, we has some snow days left over. It was so nice out, that I met Karen, Hannah, Ava and Evan at a new park in Coram. It was a little crowed, but so nice.

Girl Scouts Ice Cream Social.

Last night we had an Ice Cream Social at Minnesauke. The girls had so much fun. Eva, Julianna, Meg and Allison

The Art Show....

Minnesauke had its annual Art Show. So we went to see it. I was really impressed with some of the work we saw, especially from the older children.Allison and her classmates made these beautiful pictures with flamingos. This is the Art classroom... it was fun just to look around in here.
Here are a few pictures of a project the 6th graders worked on. There are benches, that they designed and created.

Katie's self-portrait!

This was not part of the Art Show, but was hanging outside Allison's classroom.

As was this outside of Katie's classroom. This is the report that Katie wrote about Emma Clark Library.

Staff Appreciation Day.

Minnesauke had their staff appreciation luncheon on Wednesday. Each class is responsible to create something for their teacher. K, 1st and 2nd grade make posters.... this year the theme was "Minnesauke Olympics" Below is the poster the kids and I made for Mr. Licausi. He loved it... so glad he has a good sense of humor, because when making him into the skater I was thinking "blades of glory" LOL. Katie is right here !! (under the exclamation point) I also took a pic of Allison's class poster. I didn't help with this one, but I thought it was cute. Allison is in the upper right corner, wearing a red dress.

some changes...

Some of those changes include removing the old swingset from thebackyard. 2 weeks ago when Doug and Erica were here, we used Doug for a little manpower. Him and Richard took the swingset out of its location and moved the trampoline up to were the swingset was.
Katie was super helpful, she was inside scrubbing it down with a brush.

Probably the only time you will ever see Rich in or on the trampoline!! LOL

Congratulations Jackie and Anthony!!!!

My Niece Jackie and her Boyfriend Anthony just got engaged!!!! Yay for them... :)

Fundraiser for Gretchen

Earlier this month Gretchen held a fundraising pancake breakfast at the firehouse. She is raising money to fund a hike for discovery to benefit the leukemia and lymphoma society. Our whole family pitched in to help cook, serve and clean up. She was able to get donations from many businesses in the area, she then sold tickets for a chinese auction.

3rd Annual Multicultural Fair

Earlier this month Minnesauke held its Multicultural fair. The children make projects, they have performers and booths set up from many different countries. It really is a nice night...

Outside the Cafeteria, the kindergardeners had a board set up. Its hard to see her, but Allison is in top left corner of the picture on the top left! The paper girl with the checkered skirt and bows on her shirt is the one that Allison made.
Here is Kathryn with her teacher, Mr. Licausi. He is great, Katie really likes him. I have gotten to know him pretty good since I have been the class contact this year.

The 2nd graders were given the assignment of making an instrument from a country of their choice. They were put on display at the fair. The banjo shown in the pic is Katies.
SHe had to make a Banjo and do a little write up on it.
Here is a picture of Allison and Mrs. Breunig... her teacher.
They did a great job of decorating the school... unfortunately it was raining and I didn't take too many pictures outside.

This Past Weekend.

On Saturday we were invited to two communions.... for children who are both so special. We decided that we would attend the church for Christopher (Jill's son) and the party for Jamie (Cindy's daughter). We really didn't want to miss either, so we tried to do what was fair. Infant Jesus in Port Jefferson has the same rules as St. James... no pictures. So I tried to get a few in of CHristopher before it started. Below is a photo of Jill putting his flower on. Jill's parents... Mr and Mrs Washburn :)
I love this picture of Jill and Chris! Congratulations Christopher!!

THe children of Jamie's party were lucky enough to have Uncle Stewie take them for a tour of the North Bellmore Firehouse. Below is a pic of Elena and Baby Elena.
