Last week the girls were off on Thursday and Friday for the Jewish holidays... since there were many districts that had school, Rich took off and we took and we heading out east with Doug, Erica and Christopher. We went out to Harbes Farm...

After a day spent out east, we had dinner and went down to the Brook House for ice cream... while down in Stony Brook Village, we took the opportunity to check out the scarecrows that are put up by various groups and organizations... Allison's brownie troop put up this scarecrow!

Isaac visits...

One of my fathers dearest friends came all the way from New Zealand to have an "adventure" with my dad. Isaac met up with me dad and they took a trip to Niagra Falls and then followed that up with a white water rafting trip in VA. We were fortunate that they were able to make their way to LI to see us. 10 years ago (on Sept 25th, 1998) I watch this beautiful girl come into the world.... (I was in the delivery room!) I am so proud of the kind and incredibly funny person she has become. I was honored to have her be my namesake and my goddaughter :) Happy Birthday! We love you Em!

the first day...

Last Wednesday was the first day of school... Allison is now in 1st grade and Katie is in 3rd. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone :( My neighbor Sara and I decided to throw a party at the bus stop again for the first day. We got bagels and Sara made a "cake" out of fruit. We met there about 20 minutes early and enjoyed breakfast together.
The sun was pretty bright...
and hot, so Rich and the girls stood in the shade.
